Unique

Really fun and unique game. Love the concept. Although it is a rather easy game, it does hold its own and makes for a really relaxing experience. I think there was one puzzle (no. 38) where I was on it for like 5 seconds. One minor suggestion would be to have more than one song.

Did you use a 3D class like sand or paper vision?

zedarus responds:

Thanks for you review.
Yes, I've used Papervision 3D for this game.

Well Done & Congrats

I might be a bit late on the reviewing side but I'd have to say that you have awesome potential as a game maker. The music was a good choice, thumping flashes with the music was very nice and the game play, although little, was fun.

My only beef would be the running animation on the stick dude. It didn't really look like he was running at all. If it were smoother, fluid and proper, I think it would really add to it and make you seem like you are running really fast and not doing a half stride through the orange scenery.

Overall, really entertaining and I can't wait for Orange Runner 2. Maybe make it a different color runner for the sequel?

Maxwelldoggums responds:

yeah. I fixed the animation for the sequel. I was kindof thinking of keeping it orange, but I might change the color scheme. Thanks for the review!

Pong is Pong

You could have done more in one frame. Adding a Menu screen and such is doable, some of my games are only 2 frames and that is because of the preloader.

Other than that its a solid pong game but that's all it is... just an average pong game. Try adding more graphics to it and possibly a twist to the gameplay.

CapnRyan responds:

Yeah but the music is cool.

It took me a while to get the game started but when it was it wasn't all that bad. I hope this passes judgment.

I didn't find that this game was getting harder as the levels increased but it felt easier. Maybe had a lot of circles at the start and decrease to make it harder to find them. Add a penalty for clicking and getting nothing maybe?

FlashGameFinder responds:

It gets a lot harder from levels 24 onwards.

Not bad.

Its a nice game. I liked the overall style but one thing that bugs me is the slow speed you have when you are on the ladders.

I found a cheat/bug. I call it the Super Jump. Jump in the air and graze the top corner of a block and you'll jump extra high.

RJGames responds:

Thanks to all of you who found little bugs. The sequel will be bug-free thanks to you

Work on the HUD

Definitely work on the layout/HUD, its too confusing and people can get lost very easily. Spread things out a bit.

Tenko2 responds:

My graphics are my weakest point... I'm great with programming and great at making unique games, I just need to spend a lot more time developing the graphics and the user interface.

Colorful

I love the bright colors in this game. Makes it stand out from a lot of the other games on NG.

If you were to flush this game out a bit more I think you can have a great fun little game. Maybe add some animation to the main fish character. Maybe add some powerups, not too many thou, and some kind of goal for the player. Good job.

MaxManning responds:

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking about maybe adding different kinds of worms that give you different abilities.

I missed the point...

Not bad, but I've seen a thousand of these things in the past month.

The sounds were really getting annoying after a while and you should use the whole song for the background music instead of a 20-30sec clip. Oh, and does this game end? What is the goal?

Bugs I found were if you move left or right when the mole hits you, you can get 2 coins instead of just one.

giraffen93 responds:

I looked for the whole BGM, but i couldn't find it. If i could, i would have imported it.

For the "Run into the mole and get more points", it's meant to be like that.

Not my type, but good anyways.

I like the whole body temp thing, it works pretty well except for the one time where it was a sort of cut scene and I couldn't get to my inventory to save myself and the body temp continued to go down. Not bad of a game

Psionic3D responds:

Yeah the body temp is at 100 in the pda/explanations but it goes back to whatever it was before when you click continue, I must remove the temp bar so it doesnt confuse peeps!!
